The 2 Purposes for Getting a Breast Implant Removal

The cosmetic procedure prosthesis, famously known as breast implant removal surgery, is usually done for individuals who wish to have their implants taken out. There will come a time when those people who previously chose to have breast enlargement will need to have their implants taken out due to cosmetic or medical reasons. This is just fine as long as it will make the patient feel good and healthy with their busts after their implants are removed.

Cosmetic Purpose

When patients start to feel like having large breasts is not making them feel beautiful anymore, they can have their implants removed to get the natural look of their busts before they had their bust augmentation.

This kind of prosthesis surgery will be fast and easy to do for the surgeon and the patient will have a quick recovery period after undergoing this breast implant removal operation.

 Medical Purpose

Getting rid of breast implants is essential once the patient is experiencing capsular contracture following a bust augmentation. This medical condition means that the capsule or scar tissue on the patient’s breast is compressing the implants; thus resulting to feelings of pain or discomfort.  A prosthesis will be necessary to take out the implants and local silicone within the patient’s body.

Due to the sensitivity of the capsular contracture, a medical breast implant removal procedure will take hours to administer, plus the recuperation of the patient may take a while than that of cosmetic prosthesis.

As I mentioned it already, patients with breast implants can easily request their surgeon to do a prosthesis surgery for them, may it be due to cosmetic or medical reasons. However, for medical types of breast implant removal operation, only a well-trained and board certified cosmetic surgeon must do the procedure to guarantee a safe and successful result.

Adrian Richards, Plastic Surgeon of Aurora Clinics discusses the reasons to exchange breast implants. Reasons to change the implants include: hardening, abnormal position and rupture.
