Essential Precautions Before a Breast Uplift Surgery

On any form of cosmetic breast procedure, including mastopexy or widely known as breast uplift surgery, there are essential precautions before the operation that any patient must take heed of. For instance, a week before the surgery, the hospital will request you to answer a health questionnaire then check your body condition for them to know if you are physically and mentally ready to undertake the operation. When you have any pre-existing medical illness, you will need a heart and blood tracing tests as well. All of these pre-surgery check-ups are done to avoid possible complications during and after the operation.

The following precautions are rules every patient should take note of before undergoing a breast uplift surgery:

No Food and Liquid Intake
Patients must have empty stomachs during the operation, hence they will be asked to stop eating and taking non-clear liquids like soda or juices six hours prior to their breast uplift surgery. This six hours requirement must be followed correctly since foods and cloudy liquids usually take time to go through the stomach. On the other hand, clear liquids like water go through the stomach fast so it’s ok to stop taking those two hours before surgery.

Refrain from Non-steroidal Medicines
Non-steroidal drugs such as aspirin, Nurofen, Voltarol must be avoided one week prior to the mastopexy procedure because these kinds of medications cause blood thinning; hence the possibility of bleeding through the surgery is highly at risk.

Stop Smoking
Two weeks before the administration of breast uplift surgery, any patient who smokes must stop it. The reason for this cigarette restriction is because smoking interfere the body’s supply of blood to the skin plus it also interrupt a fast and safe healing afterwards.
Avoid Using Ointments
Putting any ointments or creams on the whole bust area must be avoided on the day of the operation itself as they interfere with the antiseptic lotions applied during the mastopexy surgery.

Get Rid of Nail Polish
All nail polish must be removed before the operation because throughout the surgery, the patients’ blood saturation is examined via their nails.

It’s very important that the above warnings and rules are obliged by each patient so they can keep themselves free from health dangers throughout and after the breast uplift surgery and for them to acquire wonderful outcomes.

Mastopexy Augmentation | A Better Option

Mastopexy augmentation is becoming a well-known procedure  in  Europe. It is a procedure  were both breast uplift and breast enlargement surgery are performed at the same time. Breast uplift or mastopexy mainly  toughen the skin of the bust  and breast enlargement  procedure   augments the size of the bust . Both surgeries can now be well  executed at the same time.

Mastopexy? Augmentation? or Both?

Mastopexy is a procedure   which purposes to  toughen the skin of the  chest thus lifting it. This is usually performed  on women who have adequate  chest size but desired a vivacious bust. While breast enlargement, on the other hand, is a procedure  performed  to boost the size of the breasts. However, this is for women who has not had kids or those that had kids but the nipples are hanging down.

If both of the condition is present (1)  feeble bosom size and (2) nipples drooping is observed then the most appropriate treatment would then be Mastopexy Augmentation.

The Procedure

For breast enlargement

(1) You must first deal with the bust size, shape and  how full the implant you want. Aurora Clinics will will give more time with you looking at different implants and special bras, having you test it in contrasting wardrobe to distinguish which volume best suits your body frame.

(2) Another thing to consider is the type of cut. Normally, in breast enlargment alone the cut is most likely five centimeters in the fold below the breast while in mastopexy augmentation the incision is longer. Like a normal mastopexy, the incision can be partially circular or crescent in shape on the higher part of the nipple or go around the whole nipple.

However, since we are increasing the breast  volume we are also toughening up the skin of the bosom, thus the size of scars are usually shorter in mastopexy augmentation than in mastopexy alone where breast  volume is not increased.  Therefore, mastopexy augmentation is considerably more complicated than mastopexy or breast enlargement alone, in this procedure  the surgeon needs to manage alterations in breast volume and tightness of the breast tissues.

Majority of our patients at Aurora Clinics have a better choice to do the combined  treatments  due to time constraints. They choose to have mastopexy augmentation  which has the benefit of having one operation and one time down time, although in its technical aspects, it's more complicated to get it totally perfect.

The vital things to consider carefully about this procedure (mastopexy augmentation) are shape of the implant, size of the implant, and  location of the implant (whether it's placed infront or behind of the muscle) and in mastopexy, the type of mastopexy, scarring, and degree of scarring.

The Truth about Getting Pregnant After Breast Enlargement Surgery

Having fuller, bigger breasts are desired by many women of all ages, anywhere in the world that getting breast enlargement surgery have become a sought after cosmetic procedure these days. But aside from improving the look of their busts, women must also think about other issues such as getting pregnant after having their bust augmentation. A woman’s breasts hold a very important role in pregnancy, so it’s vital that patients open up with their doctor about their desire of having babies after their cosmetic procedure.

The great thing about getting bust augmentation is that it will not affect a woman’s ability to breast feed. This is because the implants are usually placed at the back of the breast tissues; therefore it will still function well when you have your baby. One thing to take note though is that the size your breasts will increase during your pregnancy, which means that the bigger the busts get, the more skin will shrink back, making the breasts look droopy. Since you have implants that enhanced the size of your breasts, expect them to look extra droopy compared to those ladies with natural busts. Yet, this after pregnancy result is not the same to every patient and there is a bust lift procedure that can correct this sagging bust problem.

Cosmetic surgeons’ advice those women who just had breast enlargement surgery to wait at least six months before they get pregnant. Being pregnant will change the entire shape and function of a woman’s body due to the hormonal fluctuations taking place in it. So it would be safe to allow your body to totally heal first from the cosmetic surgery it incurred before having it experience another modification brought about by having a baby. Waiting for some time will also allow your body to fully rest, as well as return to its prime function and sensitivity.

Deciding on getting breast implants then having a baby later on is not a major issue after all since. What’s important is that both patient and doctor have talked about this concern before the breast enlargement surgery is administered so any future regrets or misunderstandings will be avoided.

Mr Adrian Richards, of Aurora Clinics, provides valuable information on whether or not you will be able to breast feed following Breast Enlargement Surgery.

Important Precautions When Using PIP Implants for Breast Enlargement Surgery

Getting a breast enlargementsurgery does not only involve choosing the best surgeon to do the procedure but it also entails getting the right kind of bust implants. Since there are many types and brands of implants available in the market, it’s essential that patients are aware that some of these breast implants are not safe for their body. Example of this is the PIP (Poly Implant Prothese implants) which is a low-priced French brand. Due to its economical price, PIP has become a favorite implant to use amongst many cosmetic surgery branches in United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, the board members of BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) are vocal about their discontentment on the low-grade quality of PIP implants. A study made by the AFSSAPS (the French Competence Authority) also revealed that PIP implants have:

  • An extremely high leakage rate
  • The implants shells are extraordinarily weak
  • Patient’s (those who have the PIP implants) Genotoxicity cannot be determined

Compared to the current types of implants used for breast enlargement surgery, PIP implants are not made from durable, multi-layers of shell. Due to having only a singular layer, these implants are no doubt feeble if utilized in a bust augmentation surgery. Moreover, the silicone found on PIP is not at par with the accepted standards for breast implants.

The BAAPS also warned that there’s a possibility that patients may experience inflammatory reactions if they use PIP implants. This irritation which occurs when silicone are leaking does not happen in today’s kinds of implants. More studies are being conducted on the latest finding that the gel of the PIP implants may also ruin the DNA of the cells. BAAPS also shared that this French brand of breasts silicone sometimes brings rashes and fever despite the absence of implant breakage.

It’s important for those who have undergone bust augmentation to talk with their surgeons and ask about the brand of implants they have. If they have PIP implants, it’s necessary that they get an ultrasound six months following their breast enlargement surgery to examine leakage or deterioration of the silicone. Just in case there’s breakage, the surgeon will need to get rid of the PIP implants to protect the patient’s health against infection or harm.

Mr Adrian Richards, Leading Plastic Surgeon of Aurora clinics cuts breast implants in half to show how they have changed and how Silicone breast implants have evolved since 1st used in the 1970′s breast implants and their silicone contents has changed.
